ANOTHER BUSY DAY!!

We did not get to see Jacob today, but we did find out he has been moved from the sick room. We will not be able to see him until Monday from 9:30-11:30 AM and 4-6 PM. That schedule will continue all week. They wanted us to wait a couple days to make sure he is well. If so, we will be able to play with him outside. They have a large playground.

We had to go to a city called Kerch close to the Black Sea to get some paperwork. The trip was approximately 350 miles round-trip. Then we went to see the Inspector but the paperwork from the orphanage was incorrect so we had to go to the orphanage to get them corrected, then back to the Inspector. After that, we came back to the apartment and waited. James and Andrew went back to see the Inspector when the paperwork was completed. James did not like going by himself. Andrew is leaving shortly, around 7:30 PM to go back to Kyiv to take our paperwork to the SDA. He will be gone at least 3 days maybe more. We’re on our own. Yikes!! When he returns we will take the application to the court and wait for a court date appointment. Hopefully, it will be the next day, which means we may know when we will go to court by the end of next week. Pray for a quick court date and that things will get better. This has been a very emotional day for me.

We have one more long trip. It will be to a city called Armiansk. This is Jacob’s birth city. After court we will go to get a new birth certificate with his new name and ours. It will still have the same birth city of Armainsk. One other thing we found out today is the name of the orphanage. It is Small Pineapple. Funny huh?

Now, about the Black Sea. We were able to stop and see the Black Sea today. I am posting pictures, but they don’t even come close to how green the water is. This is probably the prettiest site I’ve seen so far. Speaking of pretty sites, James and I are touring along a different part of the Black Sea Sunday. We are supposed to see 2 castles, a zoo, and botanical gardens. We have had the same taxi driver most of the time we have been and he mentioned all the places he could take us in one day for what is supposed to be a very good price. I am looking forward to seeing something beautiful. Simferopol looks to be a poor part of Ukraine. I learned that Ukraine has 28 regions. Simferopol is in the Crimea region. Just an FYI for anyone traveling here. Hunter – If you and Laurie are reading this blog I plan to send you several pictures of the Black Sea since you really wanted to be in this area. I will probably want until Sunday to see if I get better pictures then.

We are signing off for now. As always, we love you all very much!!!!

James, Teresa, & Jacob
P.S. - Still working on picture placement. This blog has a mind of it's own when it comes to pictures.

I hate that you guys can't see him all weekend. I know you must be nervous about Andrew leaving. Well, maybe you will have some down time and can get caught up on some rest. I'v been reading some of Jenny and Clark's blog, they have a map of the Ukraine on it. You went about as far away from Kiev as possible. Maybe you can fly back and it be a much shorter trip for Jacob, the plane ride home will be stressful enough. I'll be leaving in the next couple of hours to take the tank home. Thanks for the use of the Tahoe. I've been addicted to this blog, I have got to get some studying and paper finished. I have at least one or two test each week and only 5 papers due this semester.

We also found out that you have to do a lot of waiting. Be patient and know that you will be home soon. So sorry to hear that you aren't getting to see Jacob until Monday. Is it because he's been sick? But you said that he's been moved back to his room. Did Andrew suggest not seeing him? The orphanage director? Is the orphanage closed for the weekend? I'm sorry for the questions, but I just don't understand the wait. I know you both want to see him. Court date, then 10 days, time will seem to drag, then fly at the end trying to get it all done so you can come home. God bless you both, keep up your spirits. Our thoughts were "whatever it takes", take these thoughts with you too.

So the Black Sea is green. Never would have thought that. Sorry to hear you want see Jacob this weekend. When you go back to see him, I pray that God will give Jacob peace when he is in your arms and feel the comfort that only a mama can give. And, that he will feel loved and secure in his daddy's arms as well. Can't wait to see you all.
