WE ARE LEGAL

We are officially Jacob’s parents. He will be 100% ours on the 12th. We can breathe a little easier. We are truly on the countdown. We only got to see him once today and only for a few minutes. He clung to me more today than any day so far. Maybe he knew he was ours forever.

Court went great. We went in around 3:45 and it was over at 4:15. We met in the Judge’s office along with two supervisors, the prosecutor, two court reporters, the orphanage lawyer, Andrew, and ourselves. The judge and one supervisor asked all the questions, which wasn’t bad at all. Mostly just name, address, occupation, DOB, and did we want Jacob and we did we know it would be final today (no turning back). They all were really nice. They even wished me a happy birthday. And at the end they were joking about a cartoon here in Ukraine that is about the Sims. They asked if it was about us, then laughed. Then the judge said we could get the court decree in 10 days.

We want to thank every one for all your prayers. We are in such a good place right now. We love and miss you. 15 days and counting.

Love,

JTJ

Congratulations Mama and Daddy. You couldn't have asked for a better B'day present than this. You are truly on the downward slope now and the offical countdown can begin. I am proud to officically be an aunt now. Matthew will have to give up some of the lime light because he no longer is the only grandchild on this side of the family.

Love you ya'll

Congratulations!!! We've been keeping up with you, we just haven't written. The days with Jacob will just get better and better. I was kind of nervous when we took Brodie out of the orphanage, no turning back, he was OUR responsiblity then. You may be nervous too, but the time in Kyiv went by fast, you'll see, then it was time for the plane ride. If you would like any suggestions for the trip to Kyiv and home, please e-mail or call.

YAYYYYYYYY!!!! Congratulations Mom, Dad, and Son!!! There's no way to put into words my excitement for you guys, so I won't even try! I remember when some friends of ours adopted from the Ukraine a few years back, and they were told to keep visits from friends and extended family very minimal and limited to around 10-15 minutes when they got home for the first few weeks or so. I'm assuming these conditions are still the same, so please give us a call when it's OK for us to come meet Jacob!! I can't wait to see him, but I certainly wouldn't want to jeopardize your "Bonding" time by upsetting or confusing the little fellow! You know how all us Southerners love to Ohh and Ahh over a little one!!:) I hope your trip home goes smoothly for all of you! Also, please let us know what you may need for Jacob so we can have them for you when you get here. I know you certainly won't feel like running out and snatching up all the things you need, and maybe we can all help you out by having things here waiting!! Much love to YOUR FAMILY!!!! (and a couple of extra kisses for Jacob):)
